Summary
Oniwakamaru is a massive man whose grotesque, misshapen face terrifies most who encounter him. His life is defined by traumatic memories of being driven out of his village by an angry mob wielding torches, a past that fuels his instinctive, defensive violence. He fights with a large double-bladed weapon and possesses immense physical strength, capable of easily knocking seasoned defenders off their feet. In episode 2, Ryujiro frees him from prison and manipulates him into serving as a bodyguard while Ryujiro seeks revenge against Mugen, Jin, and Fuu. Ryujiro maintains control over Oniwakamaru by exploiting his trauma, such as falsely claiming that the prefectural police pursuing them intend to harm Oniwakamaru as the villagers once did. This manipulation provokes Oniwakamaru into a blind rage, leading him to kill both police officers.
