Alice Margatroid is a genuine magician who was once human before transforming into a youkai magician through rigorous training. As a relatively young youkai, she remains considerate of humans and retains human-like behavior, classifying her as a humanoid youkai. Her residence is filled with an abundance of dolls, creating a creepy atmosphere that often scares away rare visitors, making her home one of the strangest locations even within the Forest of Magic, which explains why people tend to flee from the area. While anyone is welcome to stay, her silence and constant focus on research make her unsettling company. Most of the dolls in her house are crafted by Alice herself. Although they perform household chores, controlling them manually does not actually lighten her load. These dolls are packed with gunpowder, adding a dangerous element to her domain. Alice is generally believed to rarely attack humans, though she readily accepts challenges. In battle, her primary focus is controlling her doll army, leaving her vulnerable as she lacks the ability to defend herself independently. Her personality is often described as indifferent toward others, with a deep obsession for magic. She projects a tough exterior, but internally, she is somewhat cowardly. While her melee combat skills are average, her dexterity is exceptionally high, allowing her to manipulate numerous dolls with the fluidity of living beings. This skill is unparalleled even among the residents of Gensokyo. Although she is a specialist in doll manipulation, this ability is merely a hobby compared to her true potential. Alice is frequently seen holding a locked grimoire, known as the Grimoire of Alice, which is believed to unlock her full power without the need for dolls.
