Iizuka, Takayo
Summary
Takayo Iizuka is Makoto’s frail fiancée, a union arranged by his father that he only ever viewed as a friendship, a reality that frustrates her. Suffering from a weak immune system, she maintains a respectable and demure demeanor before elders and Makoto, though she reveals her true nature to Ito. Secretly, she harbors malicious intentions to destroy Ito, yet she remains dignified enough to conceal Makoto’s secret, which would otherwise force his return to the Narita household. She enrolls in his school to monitor him and ensure he adheres to the terms of their agreement, although her frequent absences due to poor health often hinder this. Hailing from a wealthy family, she commands a network of bodyguards and spies. Her elder brother suffers from a protective little sister complex and is deeply devoted to her, often weeping at her slightest gestures; he is the sole reason Makoto’s secret remains hidden, as Takayo’s pleas have stayed his hand. Originally conceived with a more vicious personality and a persecution complex, her character was softened in the final version.
