Shuzen, Karua
Summary
Karua Shuzen is a nineteen-year-old vampire born on July 1st and serves as the second-oldest daughter of the Shuzen Family. She is the older sister of Moka, Kokoa, and Akua, yet she projects a kogal persona while maintaining a childlike disposition. Her younger sister Kokoa is terrified of her, referring to Karua as the family’s top assassin, though Karua ironically despises causing harm and weeps after every kill. Her earrings function as limiters similar to Moka’s rosario; removing them unlocks transformations that grant her arms razor-sharp bat wings. Yukari notes that while all vampires can assume animal forms, this forbidden technique is avoided due to vanity regarding beauty. Karua possesses a Charmed trait that nullifies pain and allows her to ignore injuries, though she remains vulnerable once this effect fades. During her battle with Moka, Karua held back out of sisterly love despite having the power to kill her. She ranks among the most powerful yōkai Tsukune faces, exceeding the strength of Kuyo and Hokuto. Like other family members, her name is a pun on the Kahlúa liqueur.
