Summary
Heiji, frequently referred to as Heiji of the Rain Shelter, was a shinobi hailing from Amegakure. He served as the right-hand man to Kandachi, who himself acted as the right-hand man to Hanzō. During the era of Hanzō’s regime, Heiji held a subordinate position before meeting his end within the walls of Amegakure. He was later accidentally reincarnated by Kabuto Yakushi, who had originally intended to summon Hanzō. In the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kabuto deployed Heiji, considering him one of his weaker assets, as bait to unseal his more powerful pawns. During a skirmish between Kabuto’s weaker summons and the Allied Shinobi Forces, Heiji generated a smokescreen diversion to allow other reincarnated shinobi to escape. He was subsequently cornered by the Fourth Division and sealed. Upon the cancellation of the Impure World Reincarnation Technique, his soul was released and returned to the afterlife. He made his anime debut in Naruto Shippuuden Episode #316.
