Summary

Edward Newgate, known as Whitebeard, stands as the most formidable pirate in the world and is widely believed to be the closest to claiming the One Piece. He shares a legendary rivalry with the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, with whom he engaged in numerous battles and was once considered his equal. Despite suffering from health issues likely due to his advanced age and past conflicts, which require him to be surrounded by nurses and connected to intravenous tubes, he remains the world's strongest pirate, a fact that hints at his immense power during his prime. He continues to drink rum directly from the barrel, undeterred by his condition. Upon first meeting Rockstar, he dismisses a letter from Red-Haired Shanks, insisting Shanks visit in person and bring expensive sake.
