Kurasawa
Summary
Kurasawa is a student in Kira’s art club who serves as a major driver of the plot in the second volume. Although he possesses significant technical skill as an artist, Rei notes that his work lacks emotional depth. This observation hits home for Kurasawa, who lashes out due to his own struggle with inspiration. Facing intense pressure to succeed in an upcoming citywide art competition, he resorts to stealing Kira’s drawing of a mother and child to use as the basis for his painting. After winning the contest, Kira tries to confront him about the theft, but he dismisses her accusations by claiming it was merely a coincidence. Enraged by his denial, Rei attacks Kurasawa in their classroom and attempts to break his fingers before Kira intervenes to stop the assault.
