Summary
Komugi is a blind prodigy in Gung-gi, a fictional board game featured in Hunter x Hunter. She first appears during the Chimera Ant arc, where she engages in frequent matches with Meruem, the Chimera Ant King. Despite Komugi being human, Meruem begins to develop romantic feelings for her through their games. Born into a large family of twelve in the Republic of East Gorteau, Komugi initially played Gung-gi as the country's representative, earning meager funds to support her relatives. Upon deciding to pursue a career as a professional player, she adopted a strict personal code: she intended to take her own life should she ever suffer a defeat. Although she has never received formal training, Komugi possesses a natural genius for Nen, capable of using it unconsciously. However, her Nen proficiency is strictly limited to her performance in Gung-gi.
