Summary
Mogana Kikaijima is a fifteen-year-old first-year student in Class 11 with blood type AB. Originally the ace of the Swimming Club, she served as the Treasurer for Medaka’s Student Council before leaving to return to her former affiliation. In the swim team, she formed a close bond with Captain Yakushima and Vice-Captain Tanegashima. The trio shared a peculiar, intense obsession with money, driven by personal motives to accumulate enough funds to fill an entire pool so they could swim in it. Her financial fixation stems from a traumatic childhood where her father abandoned the family due to debt, and her mother fell ill from overwork. During this period, those Kikaijima considered friends abandoned her, reinforcing her belief that human connection is worthless without wealth. She expressed a cynical view that people do not care if someone dies, only if they lose their wallet. Medaka challenged this perspective by stating she would be sad if anyone died, a moment that led to Kikaijima joining the Student Council. As the only member of the group who receives a salary for her position, she gradually reformed under Medaka’s influence. Despite this growth, her obsession with money persists. Shortly after joining the council, she charged Zenkichi multiple times for various offenses, including accidentally seeing her change, insulting her, and complimenting her body. Encouraged by Yakushima and Tanegashima to socialize beyond the swim club, she developed strong relationships with fellow council members, particularly Medaka and Zenkichi.
