Summary
Gotou is a colleague of Daikichi who previously worked under his supervision. She had served at the same hierarchical level as him until she voluntarily demoted herself after having her child. This decision was driven by her desire to dedicate more time to motherhood, a motive similar to Daikichi’s own demotion which allowed him to spend more time with Rin.
