Summary

Ryou Sakurai is a first-year regular at Touo Academy, serving as the team’s Shooting Guard and the self-proclaimed 'Pre-Emptive Strike Leader'. Standing at 175 cm and weighing 59 kg, the 16-year-old boasts a unique talent known as the Quick Release Shot. This ability allows him to let go of the ball with astonishing speed during a jump shot, making it nearly impossible for defenders to time a block effectively. Coach Imayoshi bestowed his nickname upon him because this technique enables the team to start games with unexpected, nigh-unblockable three-pointers. Despite his on-court prowess, Sakurai has a fragile and delicate personality. He is prone to taking responsibility for uncontrollable events, often offering frequent and comical apologies for things that are not his fault.
