Summary
Jinya Takagi serves as Mao’s uncle, being the adopted brother of her father, though the two share no blood relation. To the public, he projects the image of a dignified, serious man, typically dressed in a suit and wearing glasses. However, his demeanor shifts drastically once he returns home; he is often seen with his shirt unbuttoned and hair disheveled, enjoying drinks, cigarettes, and playfully teasing Mao. He first encountered Mao beneath a cherry tree, unaware at the time that she was his niece. Mao addresses him as "Jin-nii," a title traditionally reserved for an older brother.
