Wound and Bandage Yakuza Rom-Com Manga Locks Winter 2027 TV Anime

Kodansha’s web-serialized yakuza romantic comedy is heading to late-night TV. Kizuguchi to Houtai (Wound and Bandage), the offbeat hit by Nanai Umihoshi, has been confirmed for a full television anime set to premiere in January 2027 on ABC and TV Asahi’s ANiMAZiNG!!! block.
The story pairs Kiritani—vice-leader of the Kurotorikai syndicate—with Riyo Washizu, the sheltered daughter of a powerful Kanto boss. What looks like a routine caretaker job flips when Kiritani discovers Riyo’s private fascination with watching strong people go soft, a kink she proudly names “Yowaraa.” Awkward chemistry, underworld etiquette, and genre-bending humor follow.
Miyuki Ishida directs, with Susumu Yamakawa on scripts and Natsuki Ooyama handling character designs. Animation production sits with J.C.Staff. Two teaser visuals—including a playful “weak loving” alternate—are already live on the official site, and volume five of the manga has just hit shelves as the adaptation ramps up.
For fans who like their rom-coms with syndicate side-eyes and unfiltered character quirks, winter 2027 just got a lot more interesting.
