The Cat and the Dragon Anime Adds New Voice Cast and Yoru shika Theme Songs

The whimsical world of The Cat and the Dragon just expanded with a fresh wave of voice talent. The official site released its second promotional video and a brand-new key visual, revealing five additional cast members and confirming the series' opening and ending theme performers.

Joining the ensemble are Natsuki Hanae as Monaruka (Black), Hinata Tadokoro as Greater Daemon, Yōji Ueda as Monsha-Mosha IV, Saho Shirasu as Mike-Mike, and Tomohisa Asō as Pomupora. They bolster an already stellar main lineup headlined by Takehito Koyasu as the fire-breathing Nekoryū and Kikuko Inoue as the nurturing Mama-nyan.

Music adds extra star power. suis from the band yorushika performs the opening theme "Nekohi," while shallm sings the ending "Tadaima no Basho," with both tracks previewed in the new video.

Adapted from Amara's popular light novels that have surpassed 1.4 million copies in circulation, the OLM production is directed by Jin-Koo Oh with series composition by Mitsutaka Hirota. The story centers on an orphaned dragon raised by a mother cat and embraced by a quirky forest feline family that calls it "winged uncle."

Fans can catch the series first on d Anime Store and ABEMA starting June 27 at 9:30 p.m. JST, one week before its TV premiere on Tokyo MX and other networks on July 4.
