Sanrio x Neighborhood Story Collab Unveils Plushies and Pop-Up Tour

Ai Yazawa's beloved manga Neighborhood Story is teaming up with Sanrio for a charming crossover that blends the series' stylish, heartfelt aesthetic with the company's iconic characters. The collaboration delivers a range of limited-edition goods including five different plush toys, matching keychains, closet-inspired acrylic dioramas, double-charm keyholders, posters, apparel like half-zip pullovers and roomwear sets, plus smaller items such as pouches, hair clips, stickers and shopping bags.
A traveling pop-up store will bring the collection to fans across Japan, kicking off at Yurakucho Marui in Tokyo from July 10 to 20 before heading to Osaka, Nagoya and a final stop in Shibuya. Purchases over 3,000 yen at the events will include a random bonus postcard from a set of seven exclusive designs, with some items rolling out at later stops.
The crossover celebrates the manga's focus on fashion, friendship and young adulthood through cute yet sophisticated designs that pair Mikako and her world with Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompompurin, Kuromi and other Sanrio favorites. Products will be available only at the pop-ups during their runs, creating a must-visit experience for collectors and longtime fans of Yazawa's work.
This marks another high-profile brand pairing for Sanrio that extends its reach into classic shojo manga territory, offering fans tangible pieces of the Neighborhood Story universe they can wear, display and cherish.
