Prime Video Snags Early Exclusive Japan Run for Frontier Lord Anime

Amazon's Prime Video has secured an exclusive early streaming slot for the upcoming TV anime The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects, giving subscribers in Japan a head start on the July 10 television premiere. The series will launch on the platform July 3, a full week ahead of its broadcast run on Tokyo MX and other networks.
Adapted from Fuurou's long-running light novel series (illustrated by Kinta and with a manga version by Yumbo), the story follows war hero Dias as he receives a vast but empty frontier domain as a reward for his service. With zero residents and nothing but plains in sight, the battle-hardened lord must figure out how to build a thriving territory—until he meets a mysterious horned girl named Alna who reveals the land's hidden potential.
Director Kenichi Imaizumi (Kingdom seasons 3-6) is helming the project at animation studio42, with series composition by Kunihiko Okada. Leading voices include Kenichirō Matsuda as Dias and Shion Wakayama as Alna, joined by a strong supporting cast featuring Jun Fukuyama, Yōko Hikasa, and Nao Tōyama. The new key visual and third promotional video highlight the slow-life fantasy's mix of grand scale and intimate character moments, backed by opening theme "Wonder" from CROWN HEAD and ending theme by Kaya.
The early Prime Video window marks a notable streaming commitment for the Earth Star Entertainment title, which has already sold millions of copies across its novel and manga formats. Fans in Japan can catch the premiere online starting July 3 before the traditional broadcast rollout begins the following week.
