Kingdom Vol. 79 Tops Oricon’s May Manga Sales Chart
Oricon released its Monthly Comic Ranking for May 2026 on June 4, tracking estimated print sales across Japanese retailers from May 4 to 31. Volume 79 of Kingdom led the pack with 356,559 copies sold after hitting stores on May 19, powering through the ongoing arc of Qin’s multi-front assault on Zhao.
The result highlights the series’ remarkable longevity more than two decades into serialization. While spinoffs and newer Jump titles grabbed attention elsewhere on the list, Hara’s historical epic once again demonstrated unmatched drawing power among dedicated readers.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s final volume landed in second with 204,299 copies. The Five Star Stories Vol. 19 took third, followed by strong performances from Kagurabachi, Blue Box, Sakamoto Days, and a One Piece spin-off collection. The chart paints a picture of a market where veteran blockbusters and rising series continue to thrive side by side.
