In the past, a student managed to successfully drive away all the ghosts from a school that was rumored to be haunted. Now, those spirits have returned, seeking vengeance. Satsuki and Keiichirou Miyanoshita, a pair of siblings, are still grieving the death of their mother. When they move to her old hometown, they find that their new school is an aging building filled with whispers of paranormal activity. At first, they dismiss these stories, but they soon realize the ghosts are real and hold a particular grudge against them. The series Gakkou no Kaidan follows the terrifying ordeals of the siblings and their new friends as they struggle to survive the anger of the school's vengeful spirits, with help from their pet cat.
