In "The Hill Dyed Rose Madder," Yuuhi Katagiri, the cherished daughter of her family, is usually kept under close watch. One day, she ends up alone after school and is harassed by a group of boys. Junichi Nagase, returning from a convenience store, notices her distress and steps in. Recognizing him as the infamous "Geno Killer," the bullies flee. Though thankful, Yuuhi leaves without learning his name, and Junichi later regrets his cold demeanor.
The next day, coincidentally, Yuuhi transfers into Junichi's class and calls him "Geno Killer" based on her scant knowledge of him. Gossip swirls, and their relationship grows more tangled when a misunderstanding leads to Junichi accidentally kissing Yuuhi. To make matters worse, it turns out Junichi is already engaged to Yuuhi.
Despite her initial dislike of Junichi, Yuuhi must follow her father's orders and move into his home, which he shares with his younger sister, Minato. Her objective is clear: prove he is unfit to be her husband. As they live together, will she succeed in showing his unsuitability, or might she unexpectedly grow to care for him?
