In the 22nd century, space travel, planetary colonization, and anti-gravity basketball are everyday realities, but Earth has become too hostile to live on, forcing humanity to reside in colonies on neighboring planets. During a school field trip, a series of unexpected events throws Luna, a newly transferred student, along with her robot companion Chako and six other classmates, into a gravity storm. They crash-land on what appears to be an abandoned planet. Taking charge as the group's leader, Luna, alongside the resourceful Kaoru, the privileged Howard, the timid Sharla, the accommodating Bell, the proud musician Menori, and the gifted Shingo, must struggle to survive. But is the planet truly lifeless, or are there hidden beings or individuals lurking in the shadows?

Naming him Reg, Riko suspects the advanced technology within him must come from the depths of the Abyss. Together, they embark on a journey into the abyssal darkness: Reg searches for his lost memories, while Riko is resolved to reach the bottom herself. However, they remain ignorant of the brutal realities that await them in the unforgiving world of the Abyss.

In a world where Spontaneous Human Combustion has become a grim reality, ordinary citizens can suddenly transform into raging, flaming creatures known as Infernals. These initial victims represent the first cases of Human Combustion, whereas later generations, called pyrokinetics, possess the ability to control their flames without losing their humanity. The narrative centers on siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba as they enroll at First High School. Following their examinations, Miyuki's extraordinary aptitude earns her a place in the First Course, whereas Tatsuya is demoted to the Second Course as a "Weed" due to his lackluster practical performance. Academy City stands as a technological metropolis, surpassing the rest of the world by approximately two to three decades. Among its 2.3 million inhabitants, 80% are students whose education focuses on cultivating esper abilities. Misaka Mikoto, one of the city's most potent espers, shares a dormitory with Kuroko Shirai, a high-level esper who serves in Judgement, a student-led law enforcement agency. Having survived the perilous trials of Idofront, Riko obtains a White Whistle, which grants her passage to the Abyss's sixth layer, the Capital of the Unreturned. Accompanied by Reg and Nanachi, she ventures into this unexplored region where the legendary Golden City is said to be concealed. As they traverse the brutal environment, the group faces lethal creatures and treacherous terrain. Their path leads them to a village home to enigmatic entities known as "hollows." Despite the eerie surroundings, the trio continues forward to reveal the settlement's mysteries and the forgotten tales of adventurers who plunged into the Abyss's deepest unknown.

Bound together by shared sorrow, Nanachi accompanies Riko and Reg as they descend deeper into the Abyss. Their expedition brings them to the fifth layer, the Sea of Corpses, the deepest point reachable without risking one's sanity. However, their progress is halted by the sinister masked figure Bondrewd, whose horrifying laboratory stands as a massive barrier for anyone wishing to proceed. This deranged scientist plans to exact a heavy toll on Riko and her companions. Nanachi is haunted by recollections of Bondrewd's past crimes, suffering immense emotional turmoil upon facing his former nemesis again. The group discovers that Bondrewd's sole vulnerability is Prushka, a stubborn young girl who asserts she is his daughter. By forming a friendship with Prushka, Riko, Reg, and Nanachi unite to thwart her father's evil schemes and push forward into the sixth layer of the Abyss.

In A Certain Magical Index II, the escalating tension between the magical world and Academy City compels Touma Kamijou to depend on his negation ability to protect those he holds dear, battling both espers and magicians. He is supported by trusted allies and faced with new enemies, some of whom forge alliances while others lurk in the shadows, all contributing to the increasingly complex struggle. As a sequel to the action and comedy series, the story follows Touma and his companions as they face a conflict of greater magnitude. The looming threat of war becomes more pronounced, laying the groundwork for another major clash between magic and science in the battles to come.

In Date A Live III, Shidou Itsuka carries on with his task for Ratatoskr, finding and containing Spirits while strengthening his connections with those he has already sealed. As fresh Spirits appear, he takes on harder missions to stop more catastrophes. Along the way, Shidou learns more about where the Spirits truly come from.

In "A Certain Scientific Railgun S," Mikoto Misaka and her friends investigate unsettling rumors spreading through Academy City. They uncover a grim truth: secret experiments are being conducted, killing numerous espers—clones created in Mikoto's image. Overwhelmed by guilt for their suffering, she vows to stop these experiments. However, her enemies are far more powerful than she expects, including some of the most formidable espers. This story follows the Railgun as she fights to end the inhumane experiments she believes she unintentionally set in motion, plunging her life into deep despair. Academy City is always full of excitement, but not all of it is pleasant.

In the frozen remnants of what was once a bustling city, the silence is broken only by the rumble of a motorcycle engine. Chito and Yuuri ride this bike as the last survivors of a ruined urban landscape. They search through abandoned military bases for supplies, moving through the dead terrain while pondering the mysteries of the past. Though they often face loneliness, their bond helps them endure their solitary existence as the final humans. Yuuri's cheerful clumsiness and Chito's calm demeanor bring small moments of brightness to their somber routine, whether through target practice, finding books, or playful snowball fights in the wintry battlefield. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou unfolds across empty spaces and decaying buildings, telling a heartwarming story of two young women discovering hope in a bleak and fading world.

Following the Scorched Halloween incident, the world learns of a Strategic-class magician with overwhelming power. In response, the United States of the North American Continent sends its elite magician unit, Stars, led by Angie Sirius, on a covert mission to Japan. At First High School, Tatsuya Shiba and his friends hold a farewell party for Shizuku Kitayama, who is leaving for an exchange program in the USNA. Her replacement turns out to be the striking Angelina Kudou Shields, known by the nickname Lina. Meanwhile, Tatsuya discovers that the USNA is trying to uncover his true identity. In Tokyo, several corpses drained of blood are found, initially blamed on a vampire. Tatsuya quickly pieces together the evidence and concludes that these attacks are likely not unrelated.

Following the complex operation that resulted in the containment of newly enlisted member Kafka Hibino, also known as Kaiju No. 8, the Defense Force remains uncertain about how to handle him. As the first kaiju to ally with humans, Kafka is eventually transferred to the First Division after extensive deliberation, with the goal of strengthening the elite unit against potential threats. Despite this, doubts about Kafka's reliability persist, and he must demonstrate his value during an upcoming mission. The First Division, including Kafka, is soon deployed when a massive swarm of ant-like kaiju begins causing destruction. With support from Kafka's companion Kikoru Shinomiya and their leader, Captain Gen Narumi, the mission initially proceeds without major complications. However, when Kafka struggles to transform into his kaiju form, the formidable Kaiju No. 9 enters the battle with the sole purpose of eliminating Kafka and seizing his abilities. The situation appears dire, but Kafka must overcome this daunting challenge alongside his fellow soldiers if he hopes to continue his aspiration: fighting alongside his childhood friend and the Third Division's captain, Mina Ashiro.
