Synopsis

One day, while playing by the river, Nobita discovers a stray dog drowning. Feeling pity for the animal, he brings it home by hiding it in a "kennel on the wall" and names it Ichi (derived from "One," which resembles "wan," the Japanese onomatopoeia for a dog's bark). He secretly feeds Ichi and plays with it using his Kendama. Soon after, he also adopts a stray cat named Zubu (meaning "wet" in Japanese, as it was found during a rainstorm), along with many other stray cats and dogs. With so many strays, Nobita and his friends decide to send them back in time, 300 million years ago, when no other living beings existed. After using the Ray of Evolution to enable the animals to operate a food-making machine, they depart, promising to return to the present. However, when they attempt to visit them the next day (from their perspective), they encounter a time-space anomaly that crash-lands them 1,000 years before their intended destination. To their surprise, the dogs and cats have evolved into a civilized society rivaling that of the Future Society. With the time machine broken, they seek help to repair it and continue their chrono-journey, only to learn of a greater crisis: a cluster of asteroids is heading toward Earth. Will Nobita finally reunite with Ichi as he promised? And what about Hachi, a dog who greatly resembles Ichi? The 300-million-year time-space adventure begins.
