Synopsis
Episode 1: Kaori, an employee at an international IT firm based in Roppongi, Tokyo, saw her proposal to feature Tokyo-produced Japanese sake at an upcoming PR event turned down. Having lived overseas for many years, Kaori felt frustrated by her unfamiliarity with Japanese workplace customs. A colleague suggested she visit some sake breweries to better understand the traditional brewing process. Realizing that Fussa City, just a short train ride from Shinjuku, housed two such breweries, Kaori decided to explore. There, she witnessed something unexpected... Episode 2: Matsuko, a struggling assistant director searching for a filming location for an upcoming drama, sought guidance from renowned directors Mr. Higuchi, known for directing Shin Godzilla, and Director Onoe. They recommended Fussa City in Tokyo. Upon visiting, Matsuko met Haraguchi-san, who had been involved in creative projects at the American House in Fussa during their youth. As she toured the city alongside the three directors, the diverse appeal of Fussa began to reveal itself before her eyes...
Background
Fussa, one of Tokyo's western suburbs, has historical architecture, a pleasant river, American-style bars serving a local American military base, and two old sake breweries — and all within an hour's train ride of Shinjuku, Tokyo's bustling heart. To encourage more domestic and foreign tourists to come, the city, along with the Fussa City Society of Commerce and Industry, has produced a 4½-minute anime video.
