Synopsis
This narrative takes place in a world that existed before our own—one thrown into disarray as forces of good and evil clash and interweave, thereby opening the way for a new world to be born. A pair of winged beings unite in love and then depart in flight. They produce a child inside an egg, and when that child first opens its eyes, the parents are instantly obliterated—one consumed by fire, the other by water. Mythical, elemental, and enigmatic, the realm crafted by Tsuji is dangerous, ominous, and thick with apocalyptic signs, yet at the same time manages to be gentle and compassionate. A Feather Stare at the Dark amplifies ordinary gestures and raw emotions, giving form to what is unspoken and non-literal with remarkable artistry.
