World, Before You End

Synopsis

A large portion of Japan has been buried under ash following the eruption of Mount Fuji, with the particles continuing to drift down from the sky and coat the ground like snow. With a second eruption looming, many residents have evacuated, yet some remain—those who cannot bring themselves to leave or choose to stay, spending most of their time indoors. Among these left-behind individuals is high school student Rui Satou, who tries to connect with others online during breaks between classes. When he begins chatting with Michiru, the two quickly develop a close connection, prompting Rui to arrange an in-person meeting despite the fact that she lives nearer to the danger zone. However, upon meeting Michiru, Rui realizes that the bond between them is far stranger and more powerful than he ever anticipated.
