Justice and its enforcement have evolved. In the 22nd century, Japan operates under the Sibyl System, an objective method to assess each citizen's threat level by analyzing their mental state for criminal intent, known as their Psycho-Pass. Inspectors enforce the law by subduing—often lethally—anyone showing the slightest ill will; alongside them work Enforcers, citizens who have become latent criminals, given limited freedom in return for carrying out the Inspectors' grim tasks. Into this world enters Akane Tsunemori, a young woman with a sincere wish to uphold justice. But as she collaborates with veteran Enforcer Shinya Kougami, she soon discovers that the Sibyl System's verdicts are not as flawless as her fellow Inspectors believe. With everything she once trusted turned upside down, Akane struggles with the nature of true justice and whether it can be achieved through a system that might already be flawed.

Deep within the earth lies a vast chasm known as the Abyss, teeming with strange creatures and ancient relics from ages long gone. Its origins and what exists at its deepest point remain unsolved mysteries that countless explorers, called Divers, have risked their lives to uncover by descending into its darkest reaches. The most skilled and courageous Divers—the White Whistles—are celebrated as legends among those who stay above. Riko, the daughter of the missing White Whistle Lyza the Annihilator, dreams of following in her mother's footsteps and exploring the Abyss's farthest depths. However, she is only a novice Red Whistle, permitted to venture no further than the uppermost layer. One day, she stumbles upon a mysterious robot who looks like an ordinary boy. She names him Reg, and he has no memory of what happened before his discovery. Convinced that the technology behind Reg must originate from deep within the Abyss, the two decide to journey into the chasm—Reg to recover his lost memories, and Riko to see the bottom of the great pit with her own eyes. Yet they remain unaware of the cruel truths awaiting them in the Abyss's true reality.

Most people dismiss the existence of aliens, time travelers, and espers, and ordinary high schooler Kyon is no different. His mundane perspective is shattered on the first day of school when he encounters Haruhi Suzumiya, a girl determined to overturn his reality. In 2021, a parasitic virus called "Gastrea" infects people and transforms them into monsters. The remnants of humanity now dwell within walls made of Varanium, the sole substance capable of harming Gastrea. To combat the Gastrea threat, "Cursed Children"—young girls whose bodies carry traces of the virus, granting them superhuman abilities—are officially designated Initiators by the Tendo Civil Security. They are paired with Promoters, individuals who guide and protect them. These two-person teams are dispatched on missions to fight the monsters spawned by the Gastrea virus and hold them back. However, what starts as a standard inquiry quickly descends into a web of intrigue as Re-l confronts humanity's most profound transgressions. In another part of Romdo, an AutoReiv expert named Vincent Law must confront his own inner turmoil as bizarre incidents unfold around him. Re-l, Iggy, Vincent, and the young AutoReiv named Pino will form an unlikely alliance as they strive to unravel Romdo's secrets and ascertain the genuine function of the legendary entities known as "Proxies."

While reflecting on deep philosophical issues, such as the purpose of her own existence, Motoko comes to understand that the very one capable of offering these answers is the Puppet Master themselves.

With the assistance of Officer Konakawa, who has undergone this experimental therapy, they hunt for the perpetrator across both the waking world and the realm of dreams.

Three months later, during her graduation trip to the United States, cheerful college student Saki Morimi encounters Akira Takizawa, who rescues her from a precarious situation. Takizawa appears eccentric; he is completely naked, suffers from amnesia, and believes he is a terrorist. Furthermore, he carries a peculiar cell phone containing 8.2 billion yen in digital currency. Although his behavior is highly suspicious, Saki forms a bond with the mysterious young man. Unaware of the truth, she is drawn into a thrilling death game centered on money, mobile devices, and the fate of the world. Higashi no Eden follows Saki as she attempts to decipher the secrets behind her rescuer, while Takizawa competes against other contenders equipped with similar phones, recovering memories that hint at his involvement in the earlier missile attacks.

Standing in their way is the masked sadist Bondrewd, whose gruesome laboratory acts as a final barrier for those seeking to go further. The sociopathic scientist intends to exact a heavy toll from Riko’s group. Haunted by Bondrewd’s past cruelty, Nanachi struggles with intense inner turmoil upon his reappearance. The group discovers that Bondrewd’s sole vulnerability is Prushka, an impulsive girl who claims to be his daughter. Riko, Reg, and Nanachi befriend Prushka and collaborate with her to thwart her father’s schemes and reach the sixth layer of the Abyss.

Long ago, after a brutal world war ended, humanity sought refuge in six city-states that appeared peaceful and ideal—at least outwardly. Shion, an elite inhabitant of No. 6, had his view of this world transformed by a chance meeting with a mysterious boy called Nezumi. Nezumi was one of many who dwelled in the desolate wasteland beyond the city's walls, far from the so-called utopia. Despite knowing that Nezumi was a fugitive, Shion decided to let him stay for the night and offered him protection, which brought about severe consequences: due to his actions, Shion and his mother lost their elite standing and were sent elsewhere, and the city's darker side began to reveal itself. Now, a long time after that life-changing first encounter, Shion and Nezumi are finally reunited. The former elite and the boy on the run are about to set out on an adventure that will, in due course, expose the devastating truths hidden within No. 6.

Unfortunately, his first trip out coincides with a terrifying hostage situation. Luckily, a group of teens with mysterious eye powers called the Mekakushi Dan helps Shintarou resolve the incident. As a result, he and Ene become involved with their group. Their abilities seem to fit together like pieces of a puzzle, and as each member's background is unveiled, the hidden link connecting them all steadily emerges.

The Mizuhanome System is an extremely advanced technology that enables entry into one of the most fascinating realms in existence—the human psyche. By utilizing so-called "cognition particles" left behind at a crime scene by the offender, detectives from the specialized police unit Kura can manifest a criminal's subconscious mind as a surreal stream of thoughts within a virtual space. Their mission is to navigate this psychological realm, known as an "id well," in order to uncover the perpetrator's identity. Not everyone is capable of entering id wells; the requirement is that one must have committed murder themselves. This applies to former detective Akihito Narihisago, who goes by "Sakaido" while inside the id wells. Once a highly regarded member of the police force, a personal tragedy led him to become a criminal himself. Despite this, Narihisago continues to aid Kura while under confinement. Although his exceptional detective abilities remain valuable for solving cases, Narihisago begins to realize that things are not as straightforward as they appear, as behind the seemingly isolated series of murders hides a far darker truth.

In the near future, humanity has reached a point where complete body replacements from organic flesh to mechanical parts are possible. This advancement greatly enhances both physical and cybernetic abilities, blurring the line between the two realms. However, criminals also take full advantage of such technology, resulting in new and often highly dangerous forms of crime.
