Synopsis
Based on a children's book, this story follows a kappa and his mother living alone in a river. The kappa becomes friends with some village children, but due to his carelessness, he accidentally causes one of them to drown. The villagers blame the kappa family for the tragedy and plan to execute them when a plague strikes the village. Despite the deaths, the kappa family possesses a cure. Using his mother's knowledge of potions and a special mortar found deep underwater, they manage to create medicine that saves the villagers. However, it remains uncertain whether the kappa or the villagers can set aside their mistrust and forgive one another.
