Synopsis
A girl with a traditional Japanese hairstyle stands before a small man perched on a desk, who declares, "women descended from tobacco." She laughs at him and traps him under a glass. Angered, the man puffs on a cigarette in a pipe and blows smoke at her. The girl takes the cigarette from him and hides it beneath her book. When he threatens her with a gun, she tosses the cigarette into the yard. Enraged, he tries to shoot her, but the gun fails to fire. Finally, the man begins recounting the origins of tobacco. This is the oldest surviving film by Noburou Oofuji, blending paper cutout animation with live-action footage.
