Synopsis
Mankind emerged victorious over the Usurpers, an alien species, by deploying combat androids called Neans. Following this victory, humanity colonized Mars and entered a period of post-war peace. Having served their purpose as soldiers, Neans were relegated to subservient roles as workers and second-class citizens to humans. To sustain themselves, these androids require a daily dose of Nectar, a drug supplied by their human masters. Within this societal structure, there exist Proto-Neans—specialized, independent androids capable of summoning metallic exoskeletons that grant superhuman abilities. Rouge Redstar is one such Proto-Nean, working undercover for Aletheia, the government organization that oversees Nean regulation, alongside her human partner, Naomi Orthmann. Their mission is to eliminate the Immortal Nine, a group of Proto-Neans who threaten humanity for reasons shrouded in mystery. Meanwhile, an investigator travels to Mars to look into a series of murders, with Rouge as the prime suspect. As Rouge and Naomi delve deeper into their hunt for the Immortal Nine, they uncover startling revelations about the rogue androids and the organization they serve.

Metallic Rouge was produced to celebrate Bones' 25th anniversary. The series was released on Blu-ray on August 2, 2024.
