Synopsis
This heartwarming story of interspecies harmony follows two chickens who are shunned by their own kind and find shelter on an island where cranes live. When an eagle attacks, the chickens' adoptive crane parents are killed, prompting the chickens to lead a counterattack. Peace is eventually restored to the island. The anime, based on an original story by Teru Takakura, was produced over three years by roughly eighty members of the Japan Film Broadcasting Industry Association, with direction credited to Shibayama using a pseudonym.
