Synopsis
This CG film, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, is the 10th short created for the Ghibli Museum and his first using computer graphics. Just before dawn, a caterpillar named Boro hatches from an egg in a patch of scrub grass. He looks around with fascination for the first time, noticing the brilliance of the morning sun and the deliciousness of the air. As sunlight illuminates the grove, the borogiku (groundsel) leaves begin photosynthesis. "The air and water taste great!" Boro steps out into a world of both friends and foes for caterpillars. The film combines computer graphics and hand-drawn animation to depict the world from an insect's perspective, with all sound effects performed by Tamori's voice.
