Since his father passed away, Tanjirou Kamado has shouldered the responsibility of providing for his family. Although they live in poverty on a remote mountain, the Kamado household enjoys a relatively peaceful and happy life. One day, Tanjirou goes down to a nearby village to earn some money by selling charcoal. As night falls on his way back, he is forced to take refuge in the home of a strange man, who warns him about flesh-eating demons that lurk in the woods after dark. When he finally returns home the following morning, he is confronted with a horrific scene—his entire family has been slaughtered. Even worse, the only survivor is his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed into a bloodthirsty demon. Fueled by rage and grief, Tanjirou vows to avenge his family and stay by his last remaining sibling. Alongside the mysterious organization known as the Demon Slayer Corps, he will do whatever it takes to slay demons and preserve the last remnants of his beloved sister's humanity.

High schooler Yuuji Itadori spends his free time either in the Occult Club, casually indulging in baseless paranormal activities, or at the hospital visiting his bedridden grandfather. To restore her normal state, Hiyori insists Yato fix the problem, which requires a new weapon partner. Reluctantly, she agrees to assist him in finding one, offering hope that Yato’s luck is finally improving.

High school student Ichigo Kurosaki leads a normal life until his family is targeted by a Hollow, a malevolent spirit that devours human souls. During the attack, he encounters Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper who is wounded while defending Ichigo’s relatives. To protect his family, Ichigo accepts Rukia’s proposal to assume her powers, thereby becoming a Soul Reaper himself.
