Synopsis
A two-year-old boy named Nello loses his mother and becomes an orphan. He is taken in by his grandfather, who lives in a small village. One day, Nello discovers a dog that has been nearly beaten to death and names him Patrasche. Thanks to the grandfather's attentive care, the dog recovers, and from that point on, Nello and Patrasche are always together. Because they are very poor, Nello must assist his grandfather by selling milk. Patrasche helps by pulling the milk cart Nello uses to make deliveries in town.
