Synopsis
In "Donguri no Ie," Keiko, the only daughter of the Takazi family, confronts major obstacles in life as she is both deaf and mute and has mental disabilities. Her parents do their utmost but find it difficult to handle her condition. A shift occurs when Keiko enrolls in a specialized school for the deaf and mute. With encouragement from teachers and classmates, both Keiko and her parents discover renewed optimism and personal development. Moved by this experience, they establish a group called "Donguri," meaning acorn, with the goal of creating a community workshop that supports individuals with disabilities in achieving independence.
