Synopsis
The story portrays the contrasting destinies of humans and wild animals within a naturalistic setting. The protagonist, Fang, is the offspring of a hunting dog and a European wolf that escaped from a circus. Despite being raised by a human family, Fang remains a wild creature at heart and is fated to live in the natural world. The narrative builds to a climax when Fang returns from the circus and confronts his enemy—a giant brown bear that slaughtered his family.
