Synopsis
Ainz Ooal Gown, the undead sorcerer once known as Momonga, has come to terms with his existence in this unfamiliar world. Though it resembles his beloved virtual reality game Yggdrasil, many secrets remain for him to unravel by leveraging his authority as master of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. However, following the catastrophic mental manipulation of one of his servants, Ainz has grown cautious about the looming threats posed by the Slane Theocracy and the potential presence of other former Yggdrasil players. Meanwhile, Albedo, Demiurge, and the rest of Ainz's devoted guardians begin their preparations for Nazarick's next major endeavor: its first war. Overlord II resumes directly after its predecessor, carrying on the tale of Ainz Ooal Gown, his diverse assembly of human-detesting guardians, and the numerous unfortunate humans impacted by the Overlord's emergence.
Background
