Synopsis
The inhabitants of Esteria suffer under the assault of mythical beasts, having mustered an army to defend themselves. Yet the creatures seem endless, and each skirmish reduces the number of defenders further. Even in the fortified town of Minea, where people take refuge behind castle walls, the relentless attacks breed despair. In this darkness, a prophecy emerges, foretelling a courageous young hero who might bring deliverance. The story centers on Adol Christin, an adventurer driven by wanderlust, who is cast ashore on Esteria after a shipwreck. Guided by the fortuneteller Sarah Tovah, he and his companions set out across the island, seeking the legendary tomes called the Books of Ys. Their quest is arduous and perilous, but if destiny truly guides their steps, Adol will be the one to restore peace to Esteria.
