Synopsis
In the village perched on a hill, encircled by an ominous dark cloud, lives Pig. Before leaving to search for a remedy for the cloud, Pig's father built a small wooden dam to shield Pig and the village. The dam's windmill holds the cloud at bay, and Pig now bears the duty of keeping it running. Despite being young and isolated, Pig discovers companionship and a feeling of belonging through a bond with Fox, and assists the villagers in many ways. Yet Pig also struggles with the absence of their father, caught between the urge to go look for him and the responsibility of protecting the town.
Background
Hulu Japan produced the series, first announced under the title "Dam Keeper no Nakama-tachi" (The Dam Keeper's Friends). It debuted at the Short Shorts Film Festival event in Tokyo in June, and began streaming on Hulu Japan in August.
