Synopsis

Drawing from the early chapters of the classic novel Journey to the West, this tale follows the Monkey King's rebellion against heavenly rule and his intense battle with Er Lang Shen, the Jade Emperor's nephew who governs the celestial realm. The production combines roughly 30 percent live-action puppetry with fully 3D computer-generated backgrounds and characters. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the inaugural Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
