In the land of Earlshide, Merlin Wolford is celebrated as a national hero for his incredible power and achievements. Desiring a tranquil existence, he withdraws to a secluded village to raise an orphan he saved. This child is Shin, a former Japanese salaryman who has been reincarnated into this world with his previous memories intact. As time passes, Shin displays remarkable aptitude in both magic and battle, constantly astonishing Merlin with his potential.
By his fifteenth birthday, it becomes evident that Shin's skills are overly focused on combat, rendering him socially inept, lacking in common sense, and prone to impulsive actions. To correct these shortcomings, he joins the kingdom's Magic Academy to mature alongside his classmates. Yet, his dream of a quiet life is shattered as he immediately becomes famous upon arrival. While adapting to life at the capital's academy, Shin Wolford builds friendships, discovers his new surroundings, and confronts the various evil forces endangering him and his city.
