Synopsis
During an ordinary afternoon, Suzuko encounters Shu, one of her neighbor's children, at a park while heading home from school. She decides to accompany him. They never reach their destination. A massive gas explosion engulfs Suzuko and the young boy, but rather than perishing instantly, Suzuko awakens on a battlefield strewn with corpses during the Sengoku period. A band of marauding brigands attacks Suzuko, yet Shukumaru—a boy who had come to scavenge the dead to feed his starving village—rescues her. Although they both retreat to the village, Suzuko refuses to abandon her search for Shu. She returns to the battlefield daily, with Shukumaru following behind. Despite his complete lack of modern manners, she gradually feels a growing attraction toward him. What fate lies in store for this young girl amidst the bloodshed of Japan's history?
