Synopsis
Tong Tong, a real-life panda from Ueno Zoo and the first giant panda born in captivity in Japan, and her brother You You, who was born two years later, leave their enclosure without their parents to visit their friend Mori and Mori’s father in the city. Along the way, they meet a friendly policewoman who teaches them about traffic safety and makes sure they reach their destination safely. This educational film also marks the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China in 1972, which involved a temporary panda exchange.
