Synopsis
In Azuru Isshiki’s short film "An Instant," animation is reduced to its core: images painted directly onto paper. The piece begins and ends with a single dot, and in between, Isshiki examines the broad emotional and expressive possibilities achievable through fundamental animation methods. Using only black and red paint on different paper textures, the film presents dots, lines, and spirals flowing smoothly across the screen, joined by a vivacious female character.
