Synopsis
Hotaru Ichijou's life takes a dramatic turn when she leaves Tokyo to relocate with her family to the secluded Asahigaoka village. Her new school has only five pupils in total, including herself, all sharing one classroom regardless of their grade. There are no convenience stores nearby, and waiting for a bus can take as long as two hours. Despite these differences, Hotaru quickly becomes enchanted by the rural setting, thanks to her four distinctive classmates with whom she forms genuine friendships. The most striking among them is Renge Miyauchi, a first-grader who often shows surprising insight for her age. But equally fascinating are the three Koshigaya siblings: the quiet elder brother Suguru, the petite older sister Komari, and the mischievous youngest sister Natsumi. Having a newcomer from the city join their cheerful circle breathes new life into the quiet days of Asahigaoka. Hotaru not only brings firsthand knowledge of the enticing world beyond, but her fresh perspective ushers in a blossoming change to their everyday lives.
