Synopsis
In "Ladybirds' Requiem," the story begins when Eiko accidentally kills two ladybirds, which triggers an intense sense of guilt. This guilt transforms into an illusion where she sees the buttons on her blouse as ladybirds and grows anxious about the possibility of alternate versions of herself existing in other places. Overwhelmed by guilt and fear, Eiko starts obsessively sewing numerous buttons onto the inner side of her skirt.
