Synopsis
Set in an era where humanity and demi-humans are locked in a desperate battle for supremacy, society is stratified by the existence of guardian bearers. These select individuals wield the protection of Land Gods, marked by divine crests and overwhelming spiritual power, elevating them above ordinary people in both status and physical capability. Kai, a lowly soldier from the human settlement of Lag, desires greater strength to better his circumstances. Strange recollections of a foreign land hint at a unique path to achieving this goal, yet his apprehension about the repercussions keeps him from utilizing these latent abilities. After a bizarre sequence of incidents grants him the powers of a guardian bearer, Kai’s initial elation is dampened by the harsh reality that he must wield such talents in secret within a world fraught with surveillance and hidden dangers.
