Gestalt was filmed over the course of one year in a Tokyo dormitory. Every day, Ishida would paint onto a wall and photograph it using the light coming through the window. This seven-minute film, set to a haunting organ composition by J.S. Bach, consists of the few seconds of footage Ishida captured each day.
