Synopsis
During a session of the newly launched MMORPG The World, Minase Mai and Tomonari Kasumi suffer a sudden collapse in the real world, resulting in hospitalization after they hear an enigmatic noise. While Mai eventually regains consciousness, Kasumi falls into an inexplicable coma. Mai is subsequently contacted by Tokuoka Junichiro, the creator of The World, who reveals that Mai’s condition is not isolated; six other players nationwide have experienced the same phenomenon, leaving them in mysterious comas as well. As questions arise regarding the true nature of The World, the source of the haunting sound, and the reason the game induces comatose states, Mai, Junichiro, and their associates embark on an investigation to uncover the truth and prevent further casualties.
