Synopsis
Adapted from the hit CyberConnect2 game, this CG movie unfolds across the narrative arcs of the .hack//G.U. trilogy. The plot centers on Haseo, an online MMORPG player in The World:R2, initially known as a PKK called the "Terror of Death" and a former Twilight Brigade member. After mistaking Azure Kite for Tri-Edge and blaming him for Shino’s fate, Haseo is effortlessly defeated and Data Drained, dropping his level to 1 and stripping him of all items and contacts. This leaves him puzzled by the Data Drain’s mechanics and Azure Kite’s power. Eventually, Haseo bonds with the Avatar Skeith, gaining the ability to summon it and use skills like Data Drain. Empowered by Skeith, he seeks a way to save Shino. His primary target is Tri-Edge, a PK who allegedly traps victims in The World. Shino was attacked by Tri-Edge six months before the game’s events, leaving Shino Nanao in a coma.
