Synopsis
The seven-minute black-and-white short, created by a Japanese animation studio for the Fire Defense Agency, is designed to teach children about fire safety. Based on a concept by fire history specialist Eiichi Kosaita, the film is directed and illustrated by veteran animator Toshiharu Obata, recognized for his work on the wartime movie Momotaro Sea God Soldier. The story focuses on Tanuki, who heads a team of animal volunteers forming a fire brigade. They bravely move toward a forest fire, depicted as a personified figure, to fight the flames.
