Gongitsune is a classic Japanese children's tale that follows the adventures of a young fox named Gon. Widely regarded as the masterwork of Nankichi Niimi—often called the Hans Christian Andersen of Japan—the story centers on Gon, a mischievous little fox. While searching for food, he stumbles upon a small village, where he continually steals provisions and causes various forms of trouble, all while skillfully dodging the irate villagers who try to catch him.
